Understanding Voting Power
Voting Power Sources
$MEME Token Balance
Base Voting Power = Your $MEME Balance × 1.0
Liquidity Provider Positions
LP Voting Power = LP Token Value × 1.5 × Time Multiplier
Time Multiplier = min(days_providing_liquidity / 30, 2.0)
Reputation Score
Reputation Bonus = Activity Score × (1.0 to 1.2 multiplier)
Activity includes: trading volume, token creation, community participation
Total Calculation
Total Voting Power = $MEME Power + LP Power + Reputation Bonus
Checking Your Voting Power
On Governance Portal:
Navigate to "How to Vote"
View "Your Voting Status"
Voting Power Breakdown Example:
$MEME Tokens: 50,000 × 1.0 = 50,000 votes
LP Positions: 25,000 × 1.5 = 37,500 votes
Reputation Bonus: 10,000 × 1.1 = 11,000 votes
Time Multiplier: ×1.8 (54 days) = ×1.8
Total Voting Power: = 177,300 votes

Have the contracts been audited?
Is there a bug bounty period?
Are emergency procedures in place?
Is the upgrade necessary?
For Treasury Proposals:
Is the funding request reasonable?

Common Voting Patterns
Conservative Voting
Prefer status quo unless compelling reason to change
Vote against risky or experimental proposals
Support incremental improvements
Prioritize platform stability
Progressive Voting
Support innovation and new features
Willing to accept higher risk for higher reward
Vote for community growth initiatives
Embrace platform evolution
Balanced Voting

Consider both short and long-term impacts
Support well-researched proposals
Oppose rushed or poorly planned changes
Delegation
⚠️ DELEGATION IS REQUIRED: You cannot vote in governance until you delegate your $MEME tokens, even if you delegate to yourself.
Why Delegation is Required
Governance systems use delegated voting power rather than raw token balances for security and gas efficiency. This creates checkpointed balances that prevent voting power manipulation during proposal periods.
Mobile Wallet Delegation Process
Since the MemeTrade mobile app uses WebAuthn wallets, delegation requires using the web interface:
Step-by-Step Mobile Delegation
Open Browser: Visit memetrade.com/governance in your browser
Connect Mobile Wallet: Click "Connect Wallet" and scan the QR code with your MemeTrade mobile app
Navigate to Voting: Go to the "How to Vote" tab
Click Delegate: Click "Delegate Votes" or "Change Delegation"
Choose Option: Select "Yourself" for self-delegation or enter another address
Sign Transaction: A QR code will appear - scan it with your mobile app to sign the delegation transaction
Wait for Confirmation: Your voting power will be activated once the transaction confirms
When to Delegate
Self-Delegation (Recommended for Most Users):
You want to vote directly on all proposals
You have time to research governance decisions
You want full control over your voting power
You're new to the platform and learning
Delegate to Others If:
You don't have time to research every proposal
You lack technical expertise for complex proposals
You travel frequently and might miss votes
You want to support experienced community members
How to Change Delegation
You can change your delegation at any time:
Visit Governance Portal: Go to the "How to Vote" section
Click Change Delegation: Update your current delegation
Select New Delegate: Choose yourself or another address
Sign Transaction: Use your mobile wallet via QR code to confirm
Immediate Effect: Changes take effect for future voting periods
Finding Delegates
Community Delegates:
Active community members who accept delegations
Check Discord #governance channel for delegate announcements
Look for users with consistent proposal discussion participation
Delegate Evaluation Criteria:

Clear explanation of their voting rationale
Alignment with your values and priorities
